#DigitalRestart: Project Ambizione Italia for Youth with Microsoft

After the success of Project “Ambizione Italia for School,” Microsoft Italy and the Fondazione Mondo Digitale have launched a new inclusive platform to reinforce active labour policy during the health emergency with specific actions to aid people who help others find jobs, for youth and fragile workers. The project is part of the Microsoft #DigitalRestart five-year programme for innovation and growth.

OBJECTIVES

Lifelong learning is fundamental to face the challenges posed by a continuously evolving labour market. The risk of unemployment is increasing amongst the most fragile categories, those that have less safeguards and cannot adequately access professional updating or requalification.

The project objective is to provide skilling, reskilling and upskilling to those who need to acquire new competences or improve their professional profile, especially during the complex period presented by the health emergency.

CONTENT

All activities are free and organised in a variety of ways (live and recorded, traditional and distance learning). In order to satisfy the differing initial needs and competences of participants, there will be various course levels for each subject:

  • Introductory – soft skills and transversal competences
  • Basic – basic computer skills
  • Intermediate – multimedia, digital marketing and self-enterprise
  • Advanced - gaming & AI, web development, data analysis

TARGETS

7300 citizens divided into three groups:

  • 300 public employees working in labour offices that will be trained on the use of digital tools for orientation, job search and user self-promotion.
  • 2000 fragile citizens – NEETs, young unemployed individuals, young women, youth risking school dropout and all other vulnerable youth – trained with digital skills to increase employability or conduct professional requalification through modular courses available on 4 levels.
  • 5000 citizens – reached and oriented through e-learning content on digital and soft skills required to access the job market.

 

PILOT PROJECT WITH COLs 

The project started in 2020 with an initial experimental phase involving over 70 employees in

18 Work Orientation Centres in Rome (C.O.L).

The objective of the educational programme was to endow participants with a in-depth understanding of digital tools that they could use to provide orientation and self-promotion services for job seekers, even at a distance.

Subsequently, the project trained users, through different modules – to intercept their specific needs and provide custom-tailored courses devised to bridge gaps or reinforce low skills, especially for users with little schooling. In 2021, the programme will be extended to the national level.
