Be the next cybersecurity hero: two free on-line events

As part of its Cybersecurity Skilling Programme, Microsoft has embarked on a new adventure with Digital Thinks to describe, through the voice of qualified experts, the most interesting opportunities for professional careers on the current and future work markets.

We would like to share with you the upcoming sessions of “Be the Next Cybersecurity Hero.” These are free, on-line events for students, future professionals and individuals in search of employment, who are interested in a professional course on IT security.

Are We Safe?

In recent years, IT threats have grown at an alarming rate, globally. In 2021, the Microsoft Security Team blocked over 9.6 billion malware threats and over 35.7 billion phishing attempts and unsecure emails. Microsoft Security actively monitors 35 ransomware families and 250 entities (including nations, ransomware and criminal activities). Microsoft technology blocks more than 900 brute force password theft attacks every second. These figures highlight the need for specialised professionals. If, on the one hand, Cybersecurity Specialists are amongst the 25 most sought-after profiles in Italy (source: LinkedIn 2022 Jobs on the Rise Report); on the other, only 40% of workers have received any type of specific training on cybersecurity (Censis Report – DeepCyber, April 2022).
