A project on robotic arms at StemDays
The StemDays (June 17-28) will provide an intense experience of empowerment and technology for young women in the third and fourth year of upper secondary school in the metropolitan city of Turin, who are interested in the innovations that are changing the world.
The summer camp will build up the participants’ self-confidence, allow them to make new friends, and conduct team work in a tech lab. The course is recognised as PCTO credit.
In particular, the Fondazione Mondo Digitale coaches and the young women will work on the development of a 3D-printed and then put it into operation.
Coaches Riccardo Accatino, Francesco Dappiano, Matteo Lingua, and Francesca Formaggio, will be coordinated by Cecilia Stajano, Fondazione Mondo Digitale Community Coordinator. We met three of the coaches as tutors in the robotic arms challenge at RomeCup 2024. The former students of the Avogadro School in Vercelli are now studying at the Università Orientale del Piemonte.
StemDays – A Summer Camp for Young Women is an initiative organised by the Fondazione Human+ with the support of the Piedmont Regional School Department for coordination with schools; Associazione Forwardto, Laboratorio Museo Tecnologic@mente, Occupy AI, Fablab Ivrea, and Fondazione Mondo Digitale for the didactic activities; and professors Cristina Bertazzoni (psycho-pedagogue, University of Verona) and Chiara Ghislieri (Professor of Labour Psychology, University of Torino) for their scientific supervision.
Friends and supporters of StemDays include: Anpal, Toolbox Coworking, Cinzano Dri Comunicazione, Comune di Torino, Intesasanpaolo Assicura, Loescher Editore, Tagliavini Software Engineering.
