Skill Up Day for university students in Piedmont

Understanding how technology can facilitate human resources management and what the challenges are in the labour market was the theme of two days of practical training for 40 students from Piedmontese universities, who tested artificial intelligence applications for HR together with experts from large Italian and international companies.

Yesterday's event took place at the Opening Future Hub and the Customer Innovation Center in Corso Castelfidardo, Turin, while on Tuesday 25 March the initiative was hosted at the Novara campus of the University of Eastern Piedmont. The meetings are part of Roll Cloud, part of the Opening Future programme, a joint project for the development of digital skills by Google Cloud, Intesa Sanpaolo and TIM Enterprise. Two days of challenges, practical training and insights for a complete experience that combined training on emerging technologies with human resources management. The students from three universities, Politecnico di Torino, Università del Piemonte Orientale and Università di Torino, were the protagonists. The variety of academic backgrounds involved is striking - from computer science to biology, from strategic sciences to intercultural communication - reflecting an increasingly widespread and transversal interest in the applications of artificial intelligence, even in areas that are not strictly technical-digital. An encouraging sign of the growing awareness of the impact of technology in the world of work and in complex societies. The faculties of origin: Computer Science, Biology, Medical Biotechnology, Environmental Management and Sustainable Development, Business Economics, Artificial Intelligence and Digital Innovation, Strategic and Security Sciences, Insurance & Innovation, Social Innovation, Communication and New Technologies, Intercultural Communication.

The training courses explored how the labour market works, the skills needed to find the right role, and the employee life cycle, i.e. the complete path that a worker follows within an organisation, from recruitment to the end of the working relationship. For the challenge following the training, the participants, divided into teams of five to eight people, were put to the test on a specific case: finding a solution to improve the process of selection, recruitment, employee retention and professional development, with the integration of artificial intelligence solutions.
