The “Eyes on the Web” Challenge at the Liceo Ettore Majorana in Orvieto.
Iris Stein [a fictional character], founder of the renowned Stein Station and a leading figure in the field of new technology, has disappeared under mysterious circumstances.
For the hackathon at the Liceo Ettore Majorana in Orvieto, 48 students, organised into 8 investigative teams, were asked to act as cyber-investigators to locate a missing person and solve the Iris Case. Using a variety of resources and clues, the students had to find their way through a labyrinth of secrets and suspicions, in which every little detail could be the key to unlocking the truth. The hackathon on the topic of security was developed in synergy by two training programs: Coding Girls and Ambizione Italia for Cybersecurity.
The exciting Eyes on the Web Challenge, based on Osint (Open Source Intelligence) activities was won by Team "el primo team 1" (Michela Cappelletti, Tommaso Cherubini, Federico Ticci in Class 5S2 and Andrea Febbraro, Filippo Pigliavento, Emilia Martini in Class 3SA2). Team "Monsters&Co" placed second, while "Team6_PG_KekkoBomba" came in third.
The challenge was coordinated by Piergiorgio Ricci, Coordinating Professor at the school and FMD Coach.
