Health Bot Contest

Robotic and AI solutions for health, second edition.

The second edition of the education “Health Bot” contest, as part of Project Factor J, is promoted in collaboration with Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine Italia in upper secondary schools throughout Italy to raise student awareness on the value of scientific progress for health, wellbeing and life quality.

Schools, also in collaboration with universities and research centres, are invited to design and prototype robotic and AI solutions for health that will be presented and shared at RomeCup 2025 (May 7-, University of Roma Tre), an annual event dedicated to robotics and artificial intelligence in synergy with schools, research centres, universities, agencies, and institutions. The presentation format is inspired by elevator pitches in terms of efficiency and brevity (three minutes max).

The challenge is open both to individual students and teams without any limitations to the creativity of solutions developed with robotic applications, AI, IoT, and extended reality. Projects may include aides to improve quality of life, personal assistance, health monitoring, drug management, communication with medical personnel and family, assisted mobility, etc.

Prototypes may be developed with universities, research centres, start-ups, and other accredited institutions through independent educational collaboration. Schools participating in the contest must develop and original project or present new developments and/or integrations for projects that are already underway.

Projects and prototypes will be evaluated by a jury of experts according to the following criteria: impact, low cost, efficiency, originality, and interdisciplinary nature.

Interested schools must present their candidatures by December 31, by completing the

application form.

The objective of the challenge is not competition, but education. It is inspired by the maxim pronounced by Nelson Mandela: “I will never lose. I will win or learn.” And so it is for health and disease.
