In collaboration with Roboteco
In an era dominated by technological innovation and the rapid evolution of automation, bringing young people, especially girls, closer to robotics is becoming increasingly crucial. Robotics is not only a technical discipline, but also represents an opportunity to develop transversal skills that are fundamental for the future. For this reason, as part of the Coding Girls programme, the Fondazione Mondo Digitale and Roboteco-Italargon are offering secondary school and university students in the city of Bergamo a training course on the applications of robotics in industry for the 2024-2025 school and academic year. An opportunity to discover robotics as a way to express their creativity, solve complex problems and contribute to social and economic progress.
TARGET AUDIENCE
The course is aimed at 250 female students from secondary schools and universities in Bergamo.
OBJECTIVES
- Raise students' awareness of a new industrial culture intended as a service to the individual.
- To introduce the students to career opportunities in the STEAM sector, particularly robotics
- To promote volunteering in new business realities
- To encourage meetings between young job seekers and rapidly developing companies
- To accelerate the achievement of gender equality.
ACTIVITIES
The training programme is divided into:
- an hour-long face-to-face meeting at school with experts from Roboteco-Italargon to introduce students to the challenges of a constantly and rapidly evolving world, focusing on the integration of robotics in the workplace
- a two-hour online training session to learn how the company works and what tools it uses to be competitive on the market.
- a final eight-hour hackathon at Roboteco-Italargon, where the 50 students, divided into teams, practise responding to a challenge set by the company, simulating a customer request.
EVALUATION
At the beginning and end of the programme questionnaires are administered to assess the extent to which Coding Girls can introduce the girls taking part in the initiative to the subjects of STEAM, raise awareness of the opportunities that emerge from technical-scientific studies and guide them towards informed educational and professional choices for the future.
APPLYING
The training activities are aimed at all participants, while the hackathon is reserved for the 50 most motivated university and secondary school students.
No previous knowledge is required to participate in the courses.
