Transformative Intelligence

New Ital.IA Lab Programme hubs with Microsoft.

Thanks to Project Ital.IA Lab, together with Microsoft, we are developing a national hub infrastructure for artificial intelligence and a network of coaches for local communities. The main project actions include the development of synchronous and asynchronous training programmes for students, teachers, individuals seeking employment and workers, with a special focus on women, southern Italy, and city suburbs.

The new school year brings six new hubs, including the Giorgi Hub in Brindisi and that at the Convitto Nazionale Vittorio Emanuele II in Cagliari. On-site training will begin tomorrow at these two schools with two PCTOs (8-12 hours). In Brindisi, the coach will be Nicola Liuzzi, while in Cagliari Federico Meloni will hold the course.

ACTIVITIES

  • Training at school: 4 hours
  • Independent work: 4 hours

Besides addressing the opportunities provided by artificial intelligence both in our personal and educational/professional lives, the course will address a practical, careful, and responsible use of generative AI with a focus on how the working world is chaning and new educational opportunities.

Students will individually review the topics on the FMD Academy Platform and complete exercises, homework, and practical challenges. Delivering homework will allow each student to download the PCTO certification.

The course, selected by a school or student, can be integrated with two further optional modules (synchronous and asynchronous, two hours):

  • Video course with Microsoft experts to fully understand the opportunities provided by AI with applications that can be used professionally and in daily life, along with reflections on ethical issues relate to AI. Once completed, students will be able to evaluate their acquired skills with a test and obtain a certification validated by the University of Roma Tre for the curriculum.
  • Personal Development Module with the Personal Ecosystem Canvas
    - a self-reflection and self-evaluation session to assess strengths and weaknesses to better face the future. The module is recommended especially to fourth-year students and can be organised with the school tutor or orientation councillor.
