From practical challenges to teamwork: the experience of the university students who took part in ‘Roll Cloud. Working on the cloud’
A day of training, collaboration and innovation. This was the experience of Francesca Greco, Alessandro Gilio, Mario Poma and Mattia Morgut, university students who took part in Skill Up Day, organised as part of the Opening Future programme and the Roll Cloud. Lavorare sulla nuvola project, created with Google Cloud, Intesa Sanpaolo and TIM Enterprise [see the news item Technologies and human resources].
The double date with Skill Up Day was an opportunity to meet with experts in the field and explore the potential of artificial intelligence applied to human resource management processes. An event that combined theoretical training and practical activities, involving participants in concrete challenges to design innovative and data-driven solutions.
Among the protagonists of the day, Francesca Greco shared her enthusiasm on LinkedIn for having been able to explore ‘how artificial intelligence can transform HR processes’, underlining the value of ‘a day of collaboration, innovation and practical learning, led by experts in the field’.
Alessandro Gilio also shared his thoughts, expressing his satisfaction at having participated in an event that gave him ‘the opportunity to explore the topic of artificial intelligence and its application in the HR world’. He also appreciated the opportunity to work in a team with students from different faculties, putting what he had learned into practice right away.
Mario Poma described the experience as a valuable opportunity to ‘deepen his knowledge of artificial intelligence and the HR world’, but also to try his hand at a concrete project centred on personnel selection and managing the professional career of employees, through the use of tools such as Gemini and Looker Studio.
Mattia Morgut enthusiastically described his participation, defining the initiative as ‘a valuable opportunity to combine training on emerging technologies with the development of soft skills and collaborative work’. His team, committed to the challenge of redefining HR processes with the support of artificial intelligence, was able to stand out, winning first place thanks to a project that combined data analysis, advanced prompt engineering and strategic vision skills. ‘With great satisfaction,’ wrote Mattia, ‘by a handful of points, our project was the winner of the day!’.
The testimonies of Francesca, Alessandro, Mario and Mattia confirm how fundamental it is to offer young people opportunities for discussion between universities, businesses and research centres, in order to develop new skills and prepare for the challenges of a constantly changing job market.
Francesca, Alessandro and Mario are attending the master's degree course in Business Management, Marketing and Strategy at the University of Turin (Management Department Valter Cantino); Mattia is a student of the master's degree course in Cinema and Media Engineering at the Polytechnic of Turin (Department of Automation and Computer Science).
