IC Via Poppea Sabina at RomeCup 2023 for the first time
The Innovation Gym Robotics Lab opened by the Smart & Heart Rome Programme has allowed students at the IC comprensivo Via Poppea Sabina School in Rome to build and train robots with the Lego Spike Prime Kit. The school’s digital coordinator, Emiliano Sfragano, accompanied 25 students in 6 teams to RomeCup to participate in competitions in the On Stage Preliminary category. Team “I fantastici” placed second.
“Our first-degree secondary school students organised themselves to reach an objective and learned through experience, driving their creativity. Educational robotics is a highly inclusive activity. It promotes a culture of teamwork, reliable cooperation, and helps students that could have issues to learn in “traditional” contexts.
In this interview with Onelia Onorati at the Rome Campidoglio, during the final phases of the competition, Prof. Emiliano Sfragano describes the extraordinary power of robotics to face fragility.
