The first issue of the Fondazione Idis-Città della Scienza magazine is now on-line.
The first issue of the quarterly Fondazione Idis-Città della Scienza magazine is now available. The magazine is produced by European Project SCI-CO+ High Professional Skills for Advanced Science Communication (Erasmus+), with a consortium of eight organizations from five European countries, including the Fondazione Mondo Digitale.
The recipients of the New Frontiers of Communications in Science magazine are not only experts – particularly managers and science museum and centre employees – but also science teachers, university researchers, operators of public and private research centres, scientific dissemination experts, publishing house operators, technological innovation experts, and young graduates who wish to undertake a career in this sector.
Among the opening articles we would like to point out the contribution by Mirta Michilli, FMD Director General, and Alfonso Molina, FMD Scientific Director, entitled: Makers and Scientists: The Innovation Gym as a Factory for Scientific Dissemination. From low-cost scientific experiments to the earthquake machine, the article addresses the various "specializations" of the Innovation Gym, created by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, and the vast amount of knowledge shared with the educational community. "We are convinced that scientific dissemination is far more effective if enriched by an experiential dimension, both for communicators and for the public who become participants," write the authors.
