A webinar to learn how to recognise fake news and fraud.
Fake news and disinformation, information that is manipulated to trick people, have become an increasingly widespread global phenomenon. Social media, thanks to personalisation algorithms, drive the circulation of false stories, often banking on emotions to capture attention and generate clicks, both for economic and ideological objectives. Even young people, notwithstanding their advanced digital skills, find it difficult to recognise manipulated information. In fact, six out of every ten news items shared on social media are not even read before being shared.
Are we sure that we know how to distinguish fake news from real news? Can we protect ourselves from on-line fraud? Can we protect our privacy and personal data?
A one-hour on-line meeting organised by the Network of Rome’s Digital Facilitation Centres will help you participate on-line with more prudence and use the web safely. The appointment will be held on Wednesday, October 23 (16-17).
To participate, please register on FMD Academy. If you are not familiar with digital tools, you can call +39 375 652 0280 (also WhatsApp), Monday to Friday, 11:00 to 13:00. We will help you register and book. Please remember to keep your VAT code number ready.
