A report highlights the work of digital facilitators in the boroughs
“Rome offers you: digital support, online services accessible to all”. This is the title of the report that Roma Informa, Rome Capital’s web TV channel, dedicated on 11 September to digital support and the day-to-day work carried out in the boroughs to make it easier for citizens to access public services online.
The report, produced by Alessia Perfetti, highlights a community-based support service designed not only to help resolve digital administrative issues, but above all to guide people in acquiring the skills needed to navigate public administration platforms and services with greater confidence and independence.
The digital facilitation service is available at the registration offices of Rome’s municipal districts and is provided by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale through Zètema. The facilitators offer free support in using the main online services: from digital identity to municipal and social security services, right through to administrative procedures that increasingly require access to digital platforms.
It is a model that transforms assistance into a learning opportunity: the facilitator works alongside the individual, explains the steps and helps them understand the tools and procedures, with the aim of making them progressively more independent. Greater digital literacy also means greater opportunities to exercise rights, access services and participate fully in city life. Following the previous experience of the Digital Facilitation Centres, developed as part of Measure 1.7.2 of the PNRR, Roma Capitale has chosen to continue the service into 2026, funding it from its own resources.
