Enterprise 5.0: When Digital Transformation is Sustainable

Digital transformation is increasingly seeking a sustainable system to reconcile technological innovation and environmental protection and help companies become protagonists of a new paradigm. Now, with the so-called Enterprise 5.0, the spectrum of action for technology has been extended from the mere digitization of production and organizational aspects to the advantages deriving from the integration of artificial intelligence in production systems, with the goal of creating products and services that respect the ecosystem and people's needs.

In this context, the European Commission pays particular attention to environmental sustainability, with the aim of reducing carbon emissions by 55% within 2030. An attention that has materialized in the allocation of 2.6 million euros to SMEs, to encourage them to finance projects in the 5.0 area and promote the adoption and diffusion of advanced technology, as well as social innovation practices that can facilitate the transition on two levels: digital and green.

And to support local businesses in adopting digital strategies for sustainable development, Job Digital Lab, the programme developed by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale and ING Italia to promote the development of digital skills, arrives in Matera for a training event in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce of BasilicataAsset Basilicata and Punto Impresa Digitale.

The Job Digital Lab training session (April 27, 3:00 to 6:00 pm), held at the headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce (via Lucana, 82) will address:

  • Digital Transformation and Enterprise 5.0
  • Sustainability in Tourism
  • Metaverse and Potential Applications.

Practical cases and local success stories will serve as a source and model of inspiration:

The Matera event is one of the appointments of the third edition of Job Digital Lab which, between 2020 and 2022, provided training to over 11,000 people in Italy. The training programme, born from the collaboration between ING Italia and the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, aims to promote a greater diffusion of digital skills as a tool for intercepting the opportunities provided by digital transformation.
