Peer Sharing: planning session with the Lego® Serious Play® Methodology
The desire to provide their contribution to a community pact against educational poverty led a dozen very active local organisations in Rome’s Municipio VII to participate in the scheduled educational planning session with the Lego® Serious Play® Methodology [see news: A Pact for Growth].
The meeting took place on November 28 at the Fondazione Mondo Digitale offices on Via del Quadraro as part of Project Peer Sharing – Educational Community, coordinated by ForumSad (lead partner). The second session will be held on December 4.
The organisations that participated – a library, a school, a commercial activity, and some cultural, sports, and family support associations – agreed to test themselves in the session coordinated by Ilaria Graziano and Cecilia Stajano, certified facilitators of the Lego® Serious Play® Methodology. “Once again, we were surprised by the effectiveness of this methodology in driving social innovation and shared planning to develop intelligent communities based on educational responsibility. As the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, we are convinced that all local actors can and must contribute to the well-being of minors, because the growth of future human capital is an issue that concerns us all,” commented Ilaria Graziano, Project Manager.
In parallel, the educational community of the local partner of Project Peer Sharing met for an initial assessment of the project with Elisa Agolini, Institutional Activities Coordinator for “Con i Bambini,” a project funder. Many actions and initiatives were reviewed during the afternoon, along with their contribution to strengthening the educational community. The map developed by the Labos Foundation in collaboration with the SAL - Sale della Terra Association, for example, allowed many local actors and educational organisations to learn about each other and begin to collaborate [see news: The Educational Community On-line]. The Aspera studio opened a local contact point for families with issues [see news: Educational Community Debate], while the representatives of the Democratic Parents Coordination organized meetings on sustainable mobility in school streets with Streets For Kids. Thanks to the network, and an initiative by the Italian Library Association, the Bibliohub stopped by the Statuario Library (Parish of S. Ignazio di Antioch). The multifunctional and multimedia mobile structure served, during the days of Bibliopride, as a point for borrowing books, downloading e-books with a QR code, a bookcrossing showcase, a Wi-Fi hotspot, an Internet point, a playing and educational lab for children, and a meeting and socializing point [see news: The Itinerant Library of the Municipio VII]. Soleterre's initiatives for families and schools addressing mental health were also brought up, as well as projects at independent libraries in the area, such as the promotion of dance and art as a means of expression for adolescents and children, against isolation and demotivation. On this front, several organizations promoted the artistic contest to give voice to boys and girls aged 12 to 17 who live in the neighbourhoods of the Municipio VII who will be able to propose a performance (until April 2025) presenting the point of view on their neighbourhood [see news: Give a Voice to Your Neighbourhood]. Finally, two particularly significant meetings were remembered: the launch of four thematic tables to strengthen the educational community (Villa Lazzaroni, April 10, 2024) and the meeting and debate held at the Municipio VII on November 20, 2024 [see news: Educational Community Working Tables].
Peer Sharing was selected by Impresa sociale Con i bambini as part of the Fund to contrast the educational poverty of minors.
