On the Agenda Digitale magazine, Professor and expert Carmelina Maurizio presents her experience with the Coding Girls Programme. An adult night-course English teacher, Carmelina Maurizio teaches in various departments at the University of Turin. She has also worked for over 20 years on teacher training and school personnel for various national plans promoted by the Ministry of Education.
CODING GIRLS: OVERCOMING GENDER PREJUDICE IN STEAM CAN AND MUST BE ACCOMPLISHED
Coding Girls addresses the prejudice and stereotypes concerning access to scientific subjects that are still strong in young women, especially when it comes to self-evaluation and the choice of academic and professional careers. Objective: accelerate the achievement of equal opportunities in the scientific and technological sectors. The model has also been extended to Mozambique.
