Four webinars for teachers to break down digital barriers
Open data, geocoding, augmented reality and online safety: these are not just keywords for innovation, but real teaching tools to make learning more engaging, accessible and closer to reality. These skills are the focus of a new series of four free training webinars promoted by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale ETS with the support of Google.org as part of the Breaking Barriers project.
The course is designed for teachers of all levels, with the aim of:
- strengthen digital citizenship by educating aware and critical students;
- promote inclusion through the use of tools and languages accessible to all;
- support gender equality in access to scientific and technological careers;
- stimulate creativity and computational thinking, which are fundamental in contemporary education;
- connect school content to reality through data, maps and immersive simulations.
Discovering the hidden side of the internet, using open data to understand the world, programming interactive maps and exploring environments in augmented reality means opening up new avenues for teaching and breaking down the cultural, cognitive and social barriers that still hinder many educational pathways. It also means providing teachers with the tools and knowledge they need to innovate teaching in their daily practice.
