The Rome Council’s podcast at Smart City Expo World Congress.
Yesterday, for the last day of the Barcelona Smart City Expo World Congress, the most important international appointment for technological innovation applied to smart cities and integrated urban systems, the Rome Stand (Pavilion 2, Level 0, Street D, Stand 71) held a series of meetings on technological investments for the future.
“Bridging the Gap: The Innovation Gyms Project” Speakers
- Riccardo Corbucci, President, Rome Statute and Technological Innovation Commission
- Antonella Melito, Vice President, Rome Statute and Technological Innovation Commission
- Cinzia Diana, Event Manager, Fondazione Mondo Digitale
- Guillem Porres Canals, European Projects Manager, Fundacion Esplai.
The discussion focused on the social and educational value of the Innovation Gyms that serve as reference points in Rome’s suburban neighbourhoods and allow citizens and the new generations to enjoy immersive experiences and lab activities with new technology.
As a representative of the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, I presented Project Smart & Heart Rome, which aims to create more humane and intelligent cities. It was particularly rewarding to see the interest raised by this type of initiatives and discuss how they could be developed in other cities. This international event was an extraordinary opportunity to learn about innovation in the field of smart cities and share ideas and best practices with organisations from other countries. I was able to speak with smart city experts, administrators, innovators, and visionaries, exchanging ideas on how new technology can be made accessible to all citizens to promote the wellbeing of local communities.
We also share this brief review by Cinzia Diana, who is now on her way back to Rome.
