Peer Sharing: appointment in the Appio Claudio neighbourhood
The second appointment at BiblioHUB, the mobile polyfunctional and multimedia structure that aims to introduce citizens to the library’s cultural offerings and services, will address the city of Rome through its rich documentary archives.
The meeting will take place in the “Statuario” area in the Appio Claudio neighbourhood at the Parish of S. Ignatius of Antioch that was kindly provided by Father Andrew. Here, until September 30, as part of Project Peer Sharing coordinated by the Permanent Forum for Distance Support, there will be meetings addressing inclusion and digital skills, as well as readings and labs for children and adults [see news: The Itinerant Library of the Municipio VII].
The Statuario Library, part of the Rome Library System, and its tireless Director, Luisa Marquardt, Professor at the University of Roma Tre and bibliographer, are also part of the initiative. Yesterday, with Onelia Onorati and Luigi Stanziani, Historian and author of Roma tra le carte, we learned about the Italian capital in different periods. Stanziani read from his book about the first news published after the Italian unification, curiosities on Rome’s less well-known roads, and forgotten institutions that still provide services.
“The parish is a meeting point for citizens and it’s nice to provide a reading for human, as well as spiritual, development,” comments Father Andrew, who has recently arrived at the Statuario. “This is a reference area for our community, and it can contribute to social and cultural growth, even thanks to the commitment of our library to events such as Bibliopride and Project Peer Sharing,” explains Luisa Marquardt.
