Two days of training on the cloud, artificial intelligence and sustainable development goals

On 23 and 24 April, the Fondazione Mondo Digitale ETS brought the Roll Cloud. Working on the Cloud project to the Albert Einstein High School in Turin, during two days of self-management at the school. The initiative is part of the Opening Future programme promoted by Google Cloud, Intesa Sanpaolo and TIM Enterprise, and saw the participation of over 400 students, divided into 80 working groups, from the Via Pacini and Via Bologna campuses.

During the eight training sessions, led by Francesca Formaggio, Matteo Jacopo Lingua, Angie Albitres and Riccardo Accatino, the students explored the potential of cloud computing and artificial intelligence, with a particular focus on their role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda.

After an introductory part, the groups took part in a creative challenge: to create digital content (videos, posts, stories, comics) capable of raising awareness of one of the 17 global goals, using cloud-based and AI tools. 80 projects were developed, focusing mainly on:

  • Goal 1 – No poverty
  • Goal 4 – Quality education
  • Goal 5 – Gender equality
  • Goal 7 – Affordable and clean energy
  • Goal 10 – Reduced inequalities
  • Goal 14 – Life below water
  • Goal 16 – Peace, justice and strong institutions

Among the most significant projects is one on gender-based violence, developed in reference to Goal 16, to highlight the link between rights, justice and equality.
