Digital Tools and Financial Understanding Meet
"Io Conto" is a double event developed by ING Italia and Fondazione Mondo Digitale for the global Global Money Week (March 20-26) campaign. With the slogan "Digital Tools and Financial Understanding Meet," second-degree secondary school students will participate in a double hackathon on financial education, marking ING Italia’s partnership in Coding Girls, a programme to train the new generations in Steam disciplines and overcome the gender gap.
The events will be held in parallel on March 24 (10 to 5) in Castellanza (Varese), in collaboration with LIUC Università Carlo Cattaneo, and in Rome at Palazzo Valentini with the patronage of Roma Capitale, Department of Security Policy, Productive Activities and Equal Opportunities.
Global Money Week (GMW) is the annual event promoted by the OECD with the aim of raising awareness among youth, starting from preschool, on the importance of acquiring the knowledge, skills and behaviour necessary to make financial decisions consistent with one's needs and possibilities. This year's theme is "Plan Your Money, Plant Your Future" to emphasise the link between planning your finances and your future, also in relation to issues related to environmental sustainability.
