Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine experts meet with the volunteers from the Fondazione Don Gnocchi.
“Listening to different points of view on a topic as prominent as it is delicate, such as the use of artificial intelligence tools in the healthcare sector, is always enriching and stimulating. Opinions vary between favourable, contrary, confident, fearful, and doubtful, but the key to understanding and making the most of AI is acting as a whole,” explains Elisabetta Gramatica, who attended one of the two meetings organised by Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine Italia for the Johnson & Johnson Week on “Together towards the Medicine of the Future” (July 8-12, 2024) [see news: Together towards the Medicine of the Future].
"The system – or better, ecosystem – was the fulcrum of the meeting between Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine experts and fifteen volunteers of different ages and backgrounds, who daily run activities at the Fondazione Don Carlo Gnocchi in Milan, taking care of patients with a wide range of pathologies,” explains Elisabetta.
“We have arrived at a shared opinion that a well-orchestrated ecosystem, involving researchers, doctors, healthcare institutions, technology companies, and patients, can generate a collaborative approach that not only enhances the capabilities of healthcare professionals, but also contributes to a more preventive and proactive form of medicine, capable of responding effectively to the needs of people, who always remain at the centre of this ecosystem.”
