Open Day at the Città dell’Altra Economia in Rome

Next Wednesday, 27 May, from 10am to 1.30pm, the Città dell’Altra Economia in Rome is hosting the Open Day Training for Work, organised by the Integrated Reception Network. A morning dedicated to migrants living in the Rome area, designed to bring together in a single space services, projects and opportunities related to career guidance, vocational training and social and labour market inclusion.

The Fondazione Mondo Digitale is taking part in the initiative alongside the lead organisation and partners of the Abitare la città in modo competente project, now launching its second edition. The project, promoted in collaboration with the Federation of Evangelical Churches in Italy, ActionAid International Italia and the Adecco Foundation for Equal Opportunities, supports asylum seekers and beneficiaries of international protection through pathways of social, professional and housing empowerment, strengthening strategic skills, autonomy and employability.

During the Open Day, the Foundation will present the workshop Digital Skills for Work, starting at the end of June: a 30-hour course featuring practical activities and operational tools to navigate the world of work through the effective use of digital technologies. Participants will develop skills useful for active job-seeking, ranging from building a professional profile to the informed use of online platforms and services, as well as digital tools that can facilitate access to training and employment opportunities.

The event will take the form of a ‘booth-style’ exhibition to encourage direct, informal interaction between individuals, practitioners and local organisations. Throughout the morning, visitors will be able to find out about free vocational training opportunities, career guidance and CV support services, organisations and projects supporting job placement, and tools and platforms for inclusion.

Admission is free and no booking is required. Staff are available in various languages. We recommend bringing your CV, if you already have one.

Where: Città dell’Altra Economia, Largo Dino Frisullo snc, Rome

Who it is for: people with a migrant background who wish to work and train in Italy.
