Project activities begin today with the Italian Red Cross
Today, Monday 30 June, marks the official launch of the first online training courses offered by Digital Bridge, a project born out of a strategic partnership between the Italian Red Cross, the country's largest voluntary organisation, and the Digital Republic Fund.
The project is off to a promising start, with 300 people, including volunteers and CRI employees, already enrolled in the first courses. Six training courses will be offered, covering digital literacy, online safety, collaboration and communication with artificial intelligence.
Enrolment for the courses scheduled for September will reopen in mid-July, continuing with renewed energy a journey that puts people and innovation at the centre.
With Digital Bridge, the Italian Red Cross confirms its role as an organisation capable of innovating without ever losing its humanity. In a context in which digital technologies are redefining the timing and methods of social intervention, the CRI has chosen to invest in training people to ensure increasingly accessible, timely and effective services.
The project is divided into modular, multi-level courses designed to meet the needs of those who work every day in the field or behind the scenes of the organisation. It is a concrete opportunity to strengthen digital skills, explore generative artificial intelligence tools and train cross-cutting skills that are essential for working in a team, dealing with emergencies and supporting communities in the digital transition.
With Digital Bridge, the CRI's digital transformation starts with people, from shared training to field testing.
Italian Red Cross is organised on three levels (local, regional and national) and forms a widespread network throughout the country, consisting of the National Committee, 671 local committees, 19 regional committees and 2 committees of the autonomous provinces of Trento and Bolzano. The network is supported by 941 employees and 149,412 volunteers.
