RomeCup 2023: the experience of the Avogadro School from Vercelli

“Since 2017, RomeCup has been a crescendo of emotions, education, positive stimuli … It’s a positive evolution. We have tried to involve more and more students, and this year we had seven teams in the competitions. We began participating in the creative contests with the University of Piemonte Orientale. I must say that it was a positive and inclusive professional experience. A set of values that have led to a crescendo of didactic activities. The best example are our former students who decided to collaborate as referees.” Luca Oliva, a Professor at IIS Avogadro in Vercelli was also a promoter of the new Robotic Arms challenge. In this interview with Onelia Onorati, the professor describes his experience at the school, which was also present in the showcase area with three rover prototypes

Riccardo is at his second experience at RomeCup, in the On Stage category. In the interview, he describes his experience with the first robot: “It was very stimulating and interesting especially for everything that I learned and what I was later able to apply.” Riccardo and his team won the university contest in the CoBOT Category. “I feel very proud and happy about this year’s projects, especially looking at my overall progress.” The project for an upper-limb exoskeleton was developed by the Department of Science and Technological Innovation at the University of Piemonte Orientale. Besides Riccardo Accatino, the other team members are Samuele Crescenzio, Sara Monetta, and Alessio Provvidenza [see news: Creative Contest Winners].
