A Year-long Day

A Year-long Day

With Project Be Internet Awesome, the programme created by Google and promoted by the State PoliceAltroconsumo and Anteas to educate youth and adults to digital citizenship and on-line safety, every day of the year is a Safer Internet Day!

To further underline the importance of tomorrow, dedicated to a safe and aware use of the Internet, we have organised three sessions addressing the sessions that the European Commission has chosen for “Together for a Better Internet.”

COMMUNICATING KINDLY | The Power of Words

For first-degree secondary school students

The web is like a loudspeaker that amplifies any message, both positive and negative ones. On the web, one may have the impression of being able to act without consequences and be allowed to spread offensive messages. However, it is important to use the right words, choosing them carefully, trying to empathise with others and imagining how they could react to our words.

Coach: Nicoletta Vulpetti, Communications Consultant, storyteller, content creator and educator on issues related to digital citizenship.

STORYTELLING | How Stories Work

For primary school students

Why do we have a need to create tales and narrate stories? On-line, we are made of words and our relations are held together by words. This lab will help students develop the skills necessary to create and narrate creative content to present themselves and their world, learning how to use words therapeutically.

Coach: Valentina Guerrera, Journalist, Communications Consultant for enterprises and organisations, with a focus on social innovation.

DISTINGUISHING TRUE FROM FALSE | Fake News and Frauds

For parents

One of the greatest risks that young men and women encounter on-line is that of frauds and fake news. Many on-line messages are attempts to steal information, damage devices or influence the opinions of people. It is important for parents to help students understand that on-line people and situations are not always what they seem. They must learn to distinguish true from false.

Coach: Susanna Bulgheroni, Social Media Strategist and Educator with a degree in Communications, focus on advertising and marketing, especially social media marketing.
