The Fondazione Mondo Digitale promotes the role of volunteering to develop active citizenship amongst generations and develop life skills. The competition aims to increase the practice of freely exchanging knowledge, especially digital knowledge, and exploiting the role of young people in inter-generational exchange, along with that of teachers promoting the diffusion of innovation in didactics and adults and the elderly working with youth on life education projects.
The candidates will become part of the national Knowledge Volunteers and share experiences, knowledge and skills to accelerate the development of a democratic knowledge society.
The competition is also open to all the students involved in the various programmes of the Grandparents on the Internet digital literacy programme for the elderly, a project based on the inter-generational learning method designed and promoted in Italy and abroad by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale.
In particular, but by no means only, the following categories are invited to participate:
a. Young students (junior volunteers) that are involved in one or more of the following activities:
• Digital literacy tutors for the elderly in the multimedia labs of the schools participating in the fight against the social divide and promoting intergenerational solidarity;
• Digital animators and helpers in elderly centers;
• Virtual animators for the learning and innovation communities (Phyrtual);
• Social innovation protagonists.
b. Teachers volunteering to promote innovative didactic programs.
c. Adults and elders (senior volunteers) promoting active ageing and digital volunteering amongst peers and in life education programmes through the exchange of knowledge to help young people start off new entrepreneurial projects.
