The first part of European Project Inclusive Senior Education through Virtual U3A (ISEV) has come to an end. The project involved 45 over-65s, and three classes from the Rome IIS Piaget-Diaz School in three parallel tracks, involving 35 students, 4 teachers and 3 associations.

Each track, based on the intergenerational learning model, started with three appointments at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym Fab Lab. Over-65s and students learned about digital manufacturing devices, such as 3D printers, laser cutters and modelling software. In the labs, the participants developed traditional games anew: train sets, tops, yo-yos, slingshots and even a small frame.

The two generations hit it off immediately. The elders, who though they were going to build a toy for their grandchildren, ended up leaving the objects to their tutors.

On September 4, the elders, accompanies by Prof. Claudia Gentili and Marcello Pistili, author of the Blusa Blog, will be in Lisbon to share educational experiences with other partners.
