The Istituto d'istruzione superiore Sibilla Aleramo has successfully inserted Project Telemouse in its stages (internships) addressing social activities. The school in Via Cannizzaro that is twinned with the Colli Aniene Elderly Centre has already held the course, while the branch in Via Capellini is conducting the last lessons at the Primo Maggio Elderly Center.
Ana Lain has spoken with coordinating teachers Poli and Sbraccia, who tell us about the course. One of the most significant events was held on April 1st at the elderly centre and involved the children and families from the school. It was a true transversal meeting of distant generations that have been brought closer together.
L'IIS Sibilla Aleramo is one of three candidates for the Telemouse 3.0 Award for the best tutor and also has a volunteer at the elderly centre to the great satisfaction of Headmaster Riccardo Pasquariello.
The elderly students are motivated and inspired by the students. They have registered on Facebook and experimented with new technology to communicate with distant relatives: social networks to Skype and e-mails to Messenger. Not to talk about how many friends they have made on the web!
