Next Friday, June 21, WeZum, the International Youth Observatory of the “Pontificia Scholas Occurrentes” Foundation, in collaboration with Time4Child, has organised the first online conference against bullying and cyberbullying. The conference is entitled #StopCyberbullyingDay – 24h Scholas Talks. The FMD is an event partner.

 

The international invent will involve over 130 speakers that will address how to contrast and prevent bullying and cyberbullying. Young men and women from over 20 countries will also present what they think, feel and how they experienced related attacks.

 

Participants also include experts from academia and social organisations such as Dan Raisbeck, (Cybersmile Foundation - #StopCyberBullyingDay), Nicholas Carlisle (No Bully Foundation), Leslee Udwin (Think Equal), Fondazione Barcelona, Janice Richardson (Safer Internet Day) and others.

 

The virtual marathon is supported by regional, national and international governments and institutions.

 

Moreover, major tech companies, including Microsoft, Google and IBM, will participate as key actors in the development of strategies to contrast, prevent and raise awareness on the phenomena of bullying and cyberbullying. The 24-hour virtual conference will also involve influencers from various countries who have agreed to donate their time and experience to raise further awareness on these phenomena.

 

Wezum will present the first global report on cyberbullying, produced by surveying over 5000 young men and women who participated in Scholas activities in recent years along with the study developed by the scientific committee.
