SAP for Youth Training

The third edition of Rising Youth will begin with the new school year

press note was published yesterday by SAP Italia to communicate its commitment to youth training together with Junior Achievement Italia, Women & Technologies and the Fondazione Mondo Digitale.

Recognising the immense potential of youth as catalysers of positive change is fundamental. Committing to providing them with skills, values, and essential knowledge allows us to work together to shape a more luminous future in which no one is left behind. Competences and education are fundamental for wellbeing and the growth of society, as well as the ability to face challenges, whether environmental, economic, health-related or social.

Adriano Ceccherini, Chief Operating Officer di SAP Italia

With SAP, the Fondazione Mondo Digitale has conceived Project Rising Youth for students in second-degree secondary school and at university to help them acquire and improve the digital and soft skills necessary to face the challenges and continuous changes on the job market. “The initiative includes a workshop focusing on emerging technology during the school year and will end at RomeCup 2024 with a hackathon. The 2023 edition was won by Class IV B inf from ITI A. Pacinotti in Fondi with the development of a hydroponic plant prototype, based on Raspberry Pi, to monitor and manage cultivation. About 600 students from 10 second-degree secondary schools in 4 Italian regions participated in the 2021-22 edition of Rising Youth, while the 2022-23 edition involved 400 students from 17 schools in 9 regions, for a total of one thousand trained students in the course of two years.”

“With its activities for students addressing the development of innovative educational models to facilitate employment and business courses in the digital and green economies, SAP has reached out to nearly 5000 young men and women this year. These programmes are made possible by the fundamental contribution provided by SAP employees and partners who provide resources and time (volunteering) for coaching, teaching, and mentorship activities.”
