The Role of Women in Digital Transformation

Today, Mirta Michilli speaks at the MPW in Tech E-talk

There is not much movement on the gender gap front. Italy still ranks 63rd on 146 countries, right after Uganda and Zambia, in the World Economic Forum’s Global Gender Gap Index 2022, a report that measures the degree of equal opportunity between men and women in a range of fields: economy, educational level, health and political participation. Italy is 46 positions behind Spain (17th), 48 behind France, and 53 behind Germany. Compared to 2021, Italy improved its global score by 0.001 but remains right after Uganda and Zambia in the ranking and just before Tanzania [Ansa].

How can we overcome the gender gap in technology? How can women improve the tech sector? What scenarios and opportunities are there for women?

As part of Project MPW Most Powerful Women, dedicated to female empowerment, Fortune Italia has organised the MPW in Tech e-talk. The appointment is today, Wednesday, September 21, from 11 to 12 on Fortune’s social media channels.

Based on gender data from the digital world, the meeting will outline a detailed map of vacant posts and opportunities that can be taken advantage of by women in the sector.

The meeting will be moderated by Patty Torchia from Fortune Italia.
