Luciana Pitti on the versatility of the CS First Platform.

One of the faces of CS First that is often presented in project photos is that of Luciana Pitti, a primary school teacher at the Istituto comprensivo Gigi Proietti in Rome, a Fondazione Mondo Digitale coach and a pioneering enthusiast of the Google platform.

When we met her at the  last training event, Luciana enthusiastically described her involvement in the project: “Six years ago, when the Fondazione Mondo Digitale started the project, I was one of the teachers who found the platform extremely usable! I discovered a constant form of tutoring, the progressive updating of resources, and the ease of reading programmes both for myself as a teacher and coach and for the kids.”

The involvement stepped up when Luciana involved other teachers: “Over time, I introduced other teachers to the platform and they responded positively, taking the courses and eventually presenting real projects. They acquired new skills and organized very interesting classroom activities.”

“I haven't encountered any real difficulties, thanks to the tutorials; with patience you can get around anything that seems difficult initially.” Furthermore, the platform proved to be very inclusive: “CS First allows one to modulate the projects to individual students or groups. The added value is given by the possibility of working in an interdisciplinary manner and collaborating with other teachers, as well as sharing, being able to work “in a relay” at different times, proposing projects, and offering further stimuli thanks to the styles of the teachers involved.”
