Peer Sharing, an afternoon of workshops in the square with Decathlon Appio

Last Saturday we were at the Happio shopping centre, in the Appio Tuscolano district of the capital, a space halfway between a large commercial area and neighbourhood shops, which opens onto the city with a welcoming square, ideal for stopping and meeting [see the news item Decathlon Appio supports the educating community].

The irresistible sound of the percussion makes even a rainy afternoon in mid-March cheerful and positive. The more distracted passers-by can't help but stop in front of the group of Japanese drum players from the L'Isola dell'arte school, with a smile for the children concentrating on the scientific experiments of Fun Science. With the cry of ‘ready, steady: science!’ sparkling substances, small volcanoes and origami that seem to move by themselves take shape through chemical reactions.

The initiative is promoted as part of the Peer Sharing project, which enhances the community of the VII Municipio by offering cultural and artistic stimuli to strengthen the educating community. For this occasion, Decathlon Appio, the well-known sportswear and equipment brand that celebrated ten years of opening in the shopping centre, also collaborated. In addition to Saturday 15 March 2025, the event continues on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23, and then ends on the 29th.

On Saturday 22nd March, the ‘Isola dell'arte’ (Art Island) returns to liven up the square in Happio with the soul choir ‘Shining Souls’, while Teatrocittà offers workshops to intrigue and, who knows, introduce the noble art of the stage to passers-by in the shopping centre. For charity, the Associazione Sal Solidarietà per l'America Latina will be selling Easter eggs on 22, 23 and 29 March. Doctorbike will be demonstrating inclusive means of transport for people with psychomotor disabilities, promoting the advantages of sustainable mobility in the city (Sunday 23 March). The event closes on Saturday 29th with a martial arts exhibition by Asd Korean System.
