Projects for Elders

"It’s never too late..." to tell you about how Project "Fai da noi" ended in Perugia.

The final challenge was held on June 4 at ITAS Giordano Bruno: a jam session with the Lego Serious Play Methodology and a development marathon [see news: Generational Challenge].

The intergenerational teams worked together to develop innovative solutions for active ageing through three challenges:

  • Independence
  • Custom-tailored medical cures
  • Active participation in life

In the creative marathon, the teams had to conceive a project and then had three minutes to pitch the idea to a jury composed of school professors, makers from the Aba Fab Lab and students from the Perugia Accademia delle Belle Arti. At the end of the day, the jury selected the three winning teams that received a wooden plaque produced in the Fab Lab with a laser cutter.

First Place: REVOLUTION

A bracelet that allows doctors to update and renews patient therapies directly with the pharmacy.

Second Place: TRATTORE

Over-65s who enjoy working in the garden can use a new type of wagon that uses a lever system that allows to lower it to load it and unload it, making the activity far less strenuous.

Third Place: NON MI RICORDO

A clock with a range of alarms that allow elders to remember when and which medicine they have to take. It also memorises the medication that has been taken.
