Extracurricular activities at the Istituto comprensivo Piaget-Majorana
"The vocation of the Institute has always been to create a school open to the territory beyond the classic times of teaching for students, families and citizens in the neighbourhood to become a point of social aggregation". This is how the curriculum of the school is described. The Istituto comprensivo Piaget-Majorana is located in Piazza Minucciano, in the III Municipality of the capital, an area as large as Prato and as populated as Triste.
Piaget-Majorana is one of the five schools in the Municipality (selected with a tender from the City of Rome) that is participating in Project “Schools Open in the Afternoon" 2022-2023.
With Project Open Schools, the School, Work and Professional Training Department of Rome has launched "a process to encourage the opening beyond school hours of the largest number of schools to provide students, families and communities with the possibility of benefitting from quality educational activities and meeting opportunities in the area."
“The project was born to encourage the creation of local alliances, the sharing of experiences, resources, information, and to promote pedagogical research and didactic innovation, understanding that schools represent, especially in some areas of the city, the most significant educational hub, which can become a place for the diffusion of cultural opportunities for all and an important citizenship laboratory."
The Fondazione Mondo Digitale, in synergy with Programme Smart & Heart Rome, contributes to organising some of the activities open to all citizens [see: School Project].
The next appointment with the digital and rapid prototyping lab is on Thursday afternoon from 14.45 to 16.45 with Coach Marco Brocchieri.
