According to Istat, there currently are 2.5 million Italians who are unable to access specialist visits and testing due to excessively long waiting times. How much does the health scenario worry Italians?
Today, with the vast community of Project Factor J, promoted with Janssen Italia, we share a new report published by the Istituto Piepoli for the Rome Campus Bio-Medico University, a project scientific partner. The One Health Report, presented at the Italian Senate, investigates the future of welfare and health and what Italian and European citizens expect in terms of welfare and health. The latter is considered crucial by 70% of Italians (74% Europeans), followed by work and the environment. However, 52% declare they are dissatisfied with the current management of the health system, especially with problems related to waiting lists and the shortage of doctors.
The report reveals that the one health vision is known by 15% of European citizens, including Italians, a percentage that rises to 24% (23% Europeans) when it is described to interviewees in more depth.
