Based on the available forecasts, the Department of Civil Defence in agreement with the involved regions – who are responsible for activating civil protection systems locally – has issued a further communication on the adverse weather conditions that integrates and extends the warnings issues in the past days. The weather conditions that will affect many areas of the country could produce critical hydrogeological and hydraulic issues. These are summarised in the national warnings and alerts bulletin available on our department website (www.protezionecivile.gov.it).

Following the last, National Weather Alert and the Civil Defence Department’s Weather and Hydrogeological Alert, the mayors of many Italian cities have ordered that schools remain closed and lessons be suspended on Monday, October 29.

In Rome, Mayor Raggi only suspended didactic activities. However, schools will remain open and all personnel should regularly report to work. Teachers will participate in meetings and class councils.

Activities are also suspended at Sapienza Roma Tre Universities.

Activities at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym for Projects eSkills4Change and Immersive Weese are also suspended due to the weather alerts in Avellino and Rome.
