New features in the programme for first- and second-degree secondary schools.
Today, Monday, November6, marks the beginning of the third edition of Coding Girls in Turin, the project promoted with the “Compagnia di San Paolo” Foundation to raise awareness amongst young people, particularly female students, about new technology and studies and careers in STEAM. Once again, the program addresses first- and second-degree secondary schools in the city of Turin and its province.
We start with a double appointment involving students at the Aldo-Moro Comprehensive Institute in Bruino, led by the Coach Elisa Chierchiello, and, in the afternoon, students from the Istituto Superiore Galileo Ferraris, with Coach Marco Trapaglia, a former student at GalFer!
An innovative programme will allow students in first-degree secondary schools to engages in three orientation meetings on coding, using the Scratch programming environment and introducing, for the first time, advanced features and the integration of extensions - such as sensors, artificial intelligence, translators - to personalize their digital product.
Second-degree secondary schools will attend a five-session course that will provide them with 40 hours of PCTO credit. An innovative web orientation programme will introduce students to the design , creation, and customisation of a website or blog with advanced features, using WordPress and Altervista.
All courses are enriched with in-depth materials available on the FMD Academy Platform that can be used by students and teachers at any time.
"It promises to be an exciting edition and we can't wait to see the final projects completed!" exclaims Elisabetta Gramatica, Project Coordinator.
