The debate amongst MaTHiSiS - Managing Affective-learning THrough Intelligent atoms and Smart InteractionS (Horizon2020 Programme) Project partners continue in Vilnius (Lithuania), hosted by IMOTEC, to review the testing phase conducted by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale that has involved teachers and students of primary and first-degree secondary schools in Europe.
Yesterday, Annaleda Mazzucato [@AnnaledaM], Project Manager at the Fondazione Mondo Digitale, presented the initial observations gathered on the use of the MaTHiSiS System in schools.
The MaTHiSiS System increases student involvement and strengthens the learning processes thanks to the continuous real-time personalisation of the learning process, whilst providing teachers with indications on the correlation between student performance and emotional state. This is an innovative approach to didactics, which poses great challenges to the participating schools, in particular for students with special needs, related to the issues these students encounter in repeating procedures and their need for repeated instructions and images, verbal difficulties and emotional recognition.
The active involvement of teachers was crucial during the sessions and revealed their interest for the introduction of new didactic-support technology and the innovation of methods and approaches, as well as the need to develop testing and educational processes to promote change.
