The Istituto comprensivo Alpi-Levi in Scampia is one of the schools participating ni the two-year project on Active Ageing and Solidarity Amongst Generations Via Social Innovation and Learning (2013-2015), which is promoted by the “European Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity Amongst Generations Award” of the Italian Government’s Family Policy Council.
The project, which involves about 30 schools and 30 elderly centres in six southern Italian regions (Basilicata, Campania, Calabria, Puglia, Sardinia and Sicily), promotes active ageing amongst over-sixties via local digital literacy and active volunteering social innovation experiments. Elders and youth are involved in volunteering to learn more about life skills through virtuous intergenerational collaboration.
Rosalba Rotondo, Headmaster at IC Alpi-Levi di Scampia, feels at the forefront in the promotion of innovation and inclusion: “Just like a doctor, we have to find the right cure for students, rather than blaming them. We have to find the key to their hearts.”
The Headmaster was also present at the launch of the Phyrtual Innovation Gym Network. Here’s what she says about her school.
