The exhibition on Women’s Missed Nobel Prizes (Nobel negati alle donne di scienza - Tra pensiero maschile e pensiero femminile) can be visited until March 13th at the Palazzo Alberti di Rovereto (Corso Bettini 41) in the province of Trento. Starting on February 8th, the programme will also feature a series of conferences exploring the relationship between women and science.
The first conference - entitled “Robotics Goes Pink” - will feature a presentation by Fiorella Operto from the Genoa School of Robotics. Ms. Operto has collaborated with the Robotics department of the National Research Council in Italy to promote knowledge and comprehension for Robotics. In 2008, she received the Blackberry Award as Technovisionary of the Year for promoting the “Roberta, Girls Discover Robotics” Project in Italy.
Project Robertawas also presented at the Rome Educational City in May 2008 following the RomeCup. Since then, female students have increasingly begun to familiarise with Robotics and have even influenced the grandmothers taking the Telemouse Course! This trend is lead by the students at Itis Pacinotti in Rome.
