School activities against gender violence
“
“We are all under the same sky.” Students at the 57 San Giovanni Bosco Comprehensive School in Naples decided to fly their kites against feminicide together with their twinned school in Slovenia, thanks to the eTwinning project Wellbeing and Feeling Safe in the Classroom. The students involved in the initiative against violence against women attend the C. De Meis 90 school and are coordinated by the Prof. Fortuna Testa. The school, directed by Maria Giuseppa Dolce, is in the eastern suburbs of Naples, in Municipality VI (Barra, Ponticelli and San Giovanni a Teduccio).
Here is the story of the initiative held for the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which occurs every year on November 25, and inspired the Kite Flying Against Femicide initiative.
Educational well-being means "feeling good in class." It is developed day after day through positive thoughts and meaningful interactions, which are good for the students and allow them to emerge as "individuals." It is necessary to encourage "useful" thinking, which is based on real data and facts and driving away negative thoughts that generate anger and worry in students in order to facilitate constructive social relationships. From this perspective, the initiative promoted by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale for the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women was met with full support and active participation by the classes participating in the eTwinning project. Today, the Plexus 90students were very excited to connect with their partner school in Slovenia and let “solidarity kites” fly. Words, phrases, drawings, and images created during the project took flight to say NO to violence. The joy of the little ones who enthusiastically wanted to send a message of friendliness, respect and tolerance around the world was plain to see.
The comprehensive institute is exploring the theme of wellbeing, especially digital, also through Vivi Internet, al meglio.
