Journalists for the Day

Remember? We invited students not only to learn about innovation amongst the stands of the finalist projects, but also to actively participate in the multi-event, acting as special reporters at the Global Junior Challenge [see news: GJC Special Repoters]. Now, we can continue to recount the event through their eyes and voices.

After the video produced by the students at the IIS Celestino Rosatelli School in Rieti [see School’s Views], today, here is the work of a year three class at the IIS Guseppe Peano School in Monterotondo.

“In this video,” explain the young journalists, “we try to explain the meaning of innovation through a series of interviews (held on Oct. 28, 2015 at the Phyrtual Innovation Gym) and our own conclusions.”

The students used their smartphones to record the opinions of the protagonists of six finalist projects (both Italian and foreign), intermingling their points of view with a simple, but interesting editing job.

The “Secondo me l’innovazione è…” video (According to me innovation is …) closes with Riccardo, 16, in the role of the expert, seated at a desk with a bookcase behind his back, as well as a few stuffed animals … making it all the more amusing.

“Didactic innovation cannot come from third parties,” explains Riccardo, “as students we have to be involved. We can contribute to innovating education. Education is very important for us.”

What a beautiful definition! Short and intense, it expresses the profound bond between all young men and women in school. Education is very important for us.”

Too bad, they were only journalists for one day!
