Tomorrow, Saturday, February 1, at the IIS Guglielmo Marconi in Civitavecchia (Rome), the school will inaugurate its new innovative didactics lab, renovated thanks to the MIUR Call for Inovative Learning Environments. The areas and devices available in the new lab will be used for all subjects. The lab is located near the language lab and the school cafeteria.

One of the projects that will be presented by students is Easy-talk, developed through participation in the Ambizione Italia for Schools Programme [see post (in Italian): Con Easy Talk niente più fraintendimenti!]. "We used Microsoft Cognitive Services to develop a physical device that helps children with difficulties to communicate and recognise other people’s moods,” explains Prof. Claudio Capobianco. "During the inauguration we will present the second version of the prototype, developed in collaboration with CRC Balbuzie in Rome, a centre of excellence for learning disorders and with whom we will begin field testing.”
"All of our projects are open source and hosted on GitHub to promote the spirit of open innovation amongst students and allow all interested parties to actively contribute,” concludes Prof. Capobianco.
