Hunt for fraud!

Job Digital Lab, 57 students cyber detectives for a day

‘Sabrina Doe, a financial analyst, discovers suspicious movements in her account and fears she is the victim of a complex fraud. The challenge requires them to use Osint (open source intelligence) techniques to investigate vulnerabilities exploited by fraudsters. Participants must analyse compromised emails, text messages containingone-time password(Otp) codes, fake phone calls, suspicious sites and social media activity to identify how cyber criminals obtained his personal information. Every digital clue is crucial to piece together the puzzle and stop the fraud before Sabrina suffers irreparable damage'.

Yesterday, at ING Italia's Milan office, the “Hunt for Fraud” challenge took place, organised on the occasion of the launch of the fifth edition of Job Digital Lab with ING Italia. In the role of cyber detectives, 57 students from three local high schools competed: Freud, Schiaparelli-Gramsci and Maserati of Voghera.

The young detectives worked together, organised in ten teams, to solve a simulated case of financial fraud using Osint techniques . The case was devised with the Women for Security: Manuela Santini and Maria Cristina Daga.

The winner of the challenge was the team Le Superchicche, made up of six students from the 4th IA class of the Maserati of Voghera: Jessica Noce, Francesco Accolla, Ivan Bukachuk, Alejandro Vasquez, Alessandro Nappi, Loris Accordino.
