Promoting and coordinating initiatives against the STEM gender gap

The @GICT Atlas of Gender Initiatives in ICT portal aims to provide visibility and coordinate all initiatives conceived to reduce the gender gap in the fields of science and technology. The idea was conceived through the collaboration of three computer engineers – Tiziana CatarciLetizia Tanca and Paola Velardi – who have been working on gender issues for years. Barbara Polidori, a young journalist with a consolidated experience in communications, participates in the project as administrator and social media manager.

The project is funded by the Consorzio CINI

The main objectives are to:

  • Collect detailed information on all initiatives to analyse them and divulge best practices.
  • Provide a centralized InfoPoint for schools, universities and public and private organisations that aim to join or collaborate on projects.
  • Create a community of interests around these issues.

You will soon see all the FMD activities addressing the gender divide.
