The Fondazione Mondo Digitale welcomes a European delegation on adult education
Tomorrow, Tuesday 21 April, from 3pm to 5pm, the Fondazione Mondo Digitale will open the doors of the Palestra dell’Innovazione to an international delegation from Berlin, comprising 15 directors and managers from the Berlin Volkshochschulen, visiting as part of an Erasmus+ project.
The initiative stems from a collaboration with the University of the People of Rome (Upter) and forms part of a European exchange programme aimed at exploring innovative models of adult education, drawing inspiration for the Berlin context and launching new opportunities for international cooperation.
A comparison of European education models
The visit represents an opportunity for a practical comparison of different yet complementary experiences, with a focus on methodologies, organisation and the impact of training programmes for adults. At the heart of the meeting is the Fondazione Mondo Digitale model, which integrates digital skills, social innovation and lifelong learning, in line with the challenges of technological transformation.
The visit programme
The afternoon is divided into two main parts:
1. Presentation and tour of the Innovation Gym
Participants will have the chance to explore the Foundation’s spaces and activities up close, with a visit to the Fab Lab and a practical demonstration of the work in progress for the RomeCup, offering a direct insight into experiential and workshop-based learning environments.
2. Job shadowing and professional discussion
The delegation will take part in small-group working sessions to explore three key areas:
- designing training programmes
- managing adult education projects
- communication and marketing of educational activities
An operational format that encourages peer exchange and the sharing of practices, skills and tools.
Towards new European collaborations
The meeting forms part of a broader strategy of international outreach, with the aim of strengthening European networks on lifelong learning and promoting educational models capable of meeting the needs of adult citizens in increasingly complex and digitalised contexts. From planning to communication, via the management of training programmes, the visit represents a concrete opportunity to build alliances, exchanges and shared projects, highlighting the role of adult education as a lever for inclusion and development.
