Grandparents on the Internet: 6th edition kicks off in Trento
Everything is ready at the Istituto Tecnico Economico A. Tambosi in Trento to welcome the new over-65 students back to school, after the pandemic, for the sixth local edition of Grandparents on the Internet.
Starting tomorrow and always at the same time (14.10-16.10), grandparents and tutors will meet for ten lessons to learn about digital devices, how to safely surf the web and use apps and on-line services.
As always, the project is coordinated by Natale Scopelliti, Professor of Management IT, who, in the audio clip, explains how this new challenge is organised.
With an announcement on "Grandparents on-line … Looking for Tutors,” the school began to look for digital facilitators amongst students in Years 3-4. The call deadline was October 31. Participation exceeded all expectations. The first 25 grandparents will be met by 29 students. “Each grandparent will have a personal tutor for the duration of the course. This correspondence between grandparents and tutors leads to efficient training. The elders learn about how to use digital devices, while the emotional and motivational exchange benefits both participants,” explains the school call.
The course is recognised as a valid PCTO activity for all students who participate in at least 90% of the course hours.
