Schools participating in the second edition of Project Meet No Neet, promoted by the Fondazione Mondo Digitale in collaboration with Microsoft as part of the YouthSpark Programme, are currently in the design phase.
The schools have purchased the tools necessary and the students are now at work on the social innovation projects that will be financed via crowdfunding campaigns on the phyrtual.org platform, thus coming into contact with the community of backers.
Students at Itis Monaco in Cosenza are working on an especially ambitious project that will be implemented in the Sila National Park, to monitor the natural reserve with drones. In particular, the project will focus on the so-called Sila Giants, colossal Mediterranean pine trees that are over 500 years old and several hundred-year-old mountain maple trees, which represent an invaluable heritage of biodiversity that has been studied at the European level.
